She intensely loved life in all its many phases as it unfolded before her. Al- though she was unable to attend high school, her mind was active, and she pursued her studies at home. She developed hobbies in painting and handicrafts, and with the money from their sale she bought records to satisfy her love of riusic. Her col- lection of salt and pepper shakers brought her many friends throughout the country. She was blessed bv the unselfish care and devotion of her family who made her life as enjoyable as possible. Friends will miss her cheerful quiet way, and her courage in the long days of her illness remains a shining example to all. i Lim.. fp- CONTR Iiiijgfidw . ,4'?i'f?N .' 'Y V. For the first time the success of each project depends on the individual's re- sponsibility to do his oart. With Mrs. Whalen and Mr. Howard as advisors, this year's Sophomore Class started the year's activities with a sweatshirt sale. They also held their annual Round and Square Dance, de- corated the Christmas tree in the front hall, and soonsored a Fish Frjv sunper in the soring. All these projects gave the participants added experience. lst Row: N. Morse, L. Clark, P. Heale, A. Baker, S. Cook, S. Owens, J. Bennett, M. Breton 2nd Row: J. Sheehan, M. Hatch, R. Johnson, E. Making the job even harder was having to learn a new style of olay under a new coach. After havinz lost three games and gaining valuable experience, the team began to find themselves. In the next three games the boys played with fewer mistakes as the scores indicated. This is promising for next season, be- cause only three members of this year's team are leaving. mms Q THEY Perry ........... Althouqh in many games they nlayed well, they met defeat in the closing inning. For proof of this, one need only recall the Corfu and Alden contests in which Alexander led by five runs as late as the sixth frame and still lost in heartbreaking defeats. Mr. Dougherty did a commendable job of coaching. Wagner and Lyons shared the mound duties for Alex- ander. The leading hitters were Greiner, Johnson and Pope, each holding a batting average of over .300.
