CLASS HISTORY The red light was on-the show had begun! Only thirty-two members of the present cast mde their debut :Ln the studio of the Alexander Television School in 19142 Under the direction of lliss Churchill and llrs Weeks, we presented two plays, 'Sleeping Beauty, and 'Ask Mr Bear, astounding own' T V aud- iences with om' great dramatic ability Gerald Carter, from Wyoming, was the only 'new face' to Join us in our second studio production which was directed by lisa Judge and llrs Waite This year, llrs Waite took us on an excursion through her sugar bush, we were amazed at the procedure of raking maple syrup Upon our arrival in our third year of television experience, we found that our two new mnagers were Irs lay Ford and Miss Laraqy We 'troupers' also learned that we had another new actor, Colin Koester from Batavia We displayed our dramatic talent this year in the production of a play, Snow- white and the Seven Dwarfs,' which was a smshing success Our fourth year found us under the able direction of llrs lertie Ford and llrs Wagner We welcomed four new members to our casts Lois Bowen from Linden, Lou Ann Garlgen from Webster's Crossing, Thomas Lake from Buffalo, and Alice Lincoln who had skipped her third production to join us This year, we again produced that popular play, 'Snowwhite and the Seven Dwarfs l' The following year, our script called for five more supporting players 'Ihey were: Carol Burch from East Bethary, Carl Stockschlaeder from Darien, and Richard Foster, Joanne Stvder, and Gerald Wolff from Batavia This year, prompted by Iliss Argana and Miss I-hstings, we presented a Christmas play, dieplayixg both our acting and our singing ability 'I'hree more arrivals Joined us during our sixth year in show business They were Joyce Reed, Raymond Spring, and Frances Welker from Attica llrs Fritts and Urs Dart were our production managers this year and we enjoyed mamr activities We wrote and presented a play entitled 'School Days, and visited the luseum of Natural History, the Museum of Science, and the Zoo in Buffalo The only actor of our present troupe to join us in our seventh year was Richard Gentnsr irom Batavia Mrs Hillman and Miss Kinney were our major producers, although we began rehearsing with sev eral specialized directors this year Our company of future actors and actresses spent an interesting day visitirg the Warsaw Knitting Hill, Jail, and Park during our seventh year Finally we reached our eighth and last year of rehearsals for matinee programs Four of our pre- sent cast joined us this year Margaret Biggins from Attica, Ann Quinn from Batavia, Lester Schoenthal from Medina, and Beverly Townsend fro Albion We rewrote and presented Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream, and published an issue of a newspaper called 'The Shamrock 'lhe climax was of course our comencement, where we proudly received our diplomas, entitling us to four years of advanced eve- ning performances We excitedly began rehearsal for our first evening program on a bright September day in 1950 President, Lester Schoenthal, Secretary, Beverly Trifthauser, Treasurer, Lucy Buckenmeyer, and directors, Miss Kelly and Mr Feltham This year we 'Fresh' entertained the Seniors with a tradition- al skating party at Silver Lake, and we also held a very successful round and square dance In our tenth year, as 'seasoned troupers,' we elected the following officers John Rider as President, Carole Hodge as Vice President, Lucy Buckenmeyer as Secretary, and Sara Lewis as Treasurer, and llrs Davis and llr Collins as co-producers We presented three one-act plays, sponsored a round and square dance and encouraged Christnns spirit by decorating a huge tree in the main hall of the A C S. studio We also entertained the senior actors with another skating party During our eleventh year in television, we welcomed three new members to our ever-increasing com- paw Susan Crater from Warsaw, Ronald Fancher from Amherst, and Helen Lembcke from Batavia We chose Mr Baran and Mrs Austin to be our producers and elected John Rider, President, Lester Schoenthal, Vice President, Beverly Trifthauser, Secretary, and Treasurer, Gerald Carter We were as 'busy as bees' with our newspaper, round and square dance, Junior Prom, Christmas card sale, and supper-each to obtain money for our long awaited trip to N Y C Of course, we each had our shim, new class rings to proudly display and exchange Seniors What a breaghtakiryg word! This is what we had looked forward to since that very first day we ventured forth into the T V world This year two dranntic artists, llary Dennis and Lillian Russell, transferred from studios in Rochester and Tucson, Arizona to join our ranks Our most vital producers and prompters were chosem President, John Riderg Vice President,Roger T1-ifthauser,Treasurer, Gerald Carter, Secretary, Beverly Trifthauser, and Producers, llrs Austin and Mr Demshaw We started the year off with a bang by holding our annual round and square dance and presenting a rollicking three act play entitled 'The Show lust Go On ' Ihring the year, we mde a tremendous success of our mgazine sale We also sponsored a supper, several movies, and a Senior Ball Although considerable complaining was done, we all agree that we had fun publishing this yearbook, and our long-awaited N Y trip more than fulfilled our expectations Of course, nothing will compare with our graduation, after which some of us will go on to other television studios for higher education and some will settle down with permanent roles 26 g .
