Under their guidance we have learned how to work more uniformly toward our goal, graduation. Our financial status was greatly improved by the funds collected ' from the various activities scheduled throughout the year. Our largest money making event was our magazine campaign, which headed our year's plans. Next, the a.nnua1 Senior Play, "Am Kent", was a success. Also were both successful, for which we thank the public. Our last and most important project of our school year is the annual Senior trip to New York City, to which we look forward with happy anticipation. the round and square dance and traditional Senior Ball were highlights Rx of our last year of high school. One sunny September day in 19141, twenty-six wide-eyed candidates were admitted he realms of Alexander Central School. Under the able guidance of Miss Churchill and Mrs. -Weeks e rollcall was taken as follows, Eloise Bartz, Charles Brown, Roger Dart, Earl Geer, Doris Glor, Joanne Glor, Anita Good, Barbara Harding, Carolyn Hartle, Audrey Hawker, Nancy Hodge, Audrey Jewell, Roy Judkins, Alson Klossner, Walter Kolberg, Nancy Lewis, Ronald Mielcarek, Marilyn Myers, Roger Norton, Ralph Parise, Norman Pestlin, Clarence Rich, Dolores Schiller, Helen Spring, Jean Spring, Donald Townsend, and Rita Wagner. As first graders we entered upon an entirely new world. This was our first social experience in a democratic institution. Carolyn Hartle left this year for California. Learning more about our position and duties in our second year, we welcomed a new member to our administration, Eldon Williams from Batavia. Miss Judge guided us through this step of our education. In our third year the attendance at the sessions was unchanged. Our presiding officer this year was Miss Larmey who led us through' a successful third grade. Our class was expanding, and in the fourth grade, Beverly Robbins from Batavia and Fred Kellner from Buffalo joined us. Under Mrs. Mertie Ford and Mrs. May Ford, we became more sure of ourselves as a class and as individuals. ' Again in the fifth grade the attendance was unchanged. Miss Argana and Miss Hastings prepared us for our next class room which was upstairs. The sixth grade class was enlarged by the admission of Robert Alwardt, Audrey Gardner from Bata- via and Joanne Williams from Buffalo. Mrs. Dart and Mrs. Fritts assisted us in our attempt to- ready ourselves for the coming "high school" way of life. Nearing the end of our grade school life, two, new members were admitted to our seventh grade sessions. They were Stephen Kaminski from Darien, and Elaine Stumm from Attica. The seventh grade marked the beginning of an entirely new era for us. .This ,was our first experience in having a differ- ent teacher for each subject. Starting our last year in grammar school, our ranks were expanded by William Hassett and Gordon Linsey from Attica and Sally Meisner and Douglas Seward from Batavia. We battled through our Regents Examinations in eighth grade to proudly receive our diplomas in June of 19149. Our administration grew in power ,driving our Freshman term :Ln office. The following candidates were seated, Andrea Pfalzer, Ann Podwika, Gloria Skorniak, Dolores Schaffer, and Joseph Braun repre- senting Darien, Thomas Biggins from Attica, Clarice Golanski from Buffalo, Robert Mosman from Kenmore and Bruce Quinn from Batavia. Carolyn Hartle returned from California and re-entered our assembly. Our officers for the year were: President, Roger Dart, Vice President, Douglas Seward, Secretary, Audrey Gardner, Treasurer, Marilyn Myers. Our advisors this year were Miss Kelly and Mr. Collins. Well on our way through high-school, Florence Luce, from Pembroke, joined our assembly. we tried our hand at three one-act plays which were successful. Gordon Linsey and Paul George left us this year. The officers we elected were, President, Roger Dart, Vice President, Paul George, Secretary, Eloise Bartz, Treausrer, Marilyn Myers. Our advisors this year were Mrs. Davis and Mr. Collins. We began our Jmmior year with the addition of Esther Goodie from Batavia and Roger Stroble from Elba. we sponsored a Junior Prom and fish fry supper this year. We elected the following class administrators, President, Eldon Williams, Vice President, Nancy Lewis, Secretary, Marilyn Myers, Treasurer, Roger Norton. Miss Rapp and Mr. Demshaw were our advisors. After eleven years of hard work, we finally reached our goal, the highest position in our admin- istration, the 'Senior Class. George Cupicha, joined us after serving in the ,Armed Forces. Thomas Biggins, Marion Heiman, Audrey Gardner, Harold Alwardt, and Shirley Baker left us this year. Our presiding officers this year were, President, Clarence Rich, Vice President, Roger Norton, Secretary, Marilyn Myers, Treas1u'er, Nancy Lewis. Our advisors for this year were Miss Lester and Mr. Demshaw. The continuous co-operation between the committee chairmen and their co-workers has made our last four years financially successful. Through our many years in school we became familiar with the prin- ciples of democracy and by practicing them while working with others, we learn to become better cit- izens, ourselves. The philosophy underlying a rifle club stresses each participant learning the skills about guns fall nukes and typesl, learning to conduct himself properly when he hamiles a gun, to use good judgment in the presence of others handling guns, and finally, learning not to be an expert shot but rather a well trained individual who will consider the safety and well-being of himself and others while he handles fire- - arms. Thenstate authorizes a program concerning boys interested in procuring a Junior Hunting License and enjoying a sport that is as old as our country itself. This program includes a knowledge of the hunting regulations, licenses, personal conduct and dress in the field, what to hunt, where to hunt, what to do in case of an accident, and how to hunt to minimize accidents. This spring the club will participate in the sectional natches at Amherst. Five members constitute a team and the team is scored against other teams. A total of one thousand points can be made by each team, but this would infer a perfect score which is nearly impossible for amy team. To stimulate interest, members are awarded diplomas, pins, medals, emblems, and brassards. A small fee is charged for all of these except the diplomas. some of the boys will receive other awards, depending upon how far they have advanced. On November 6 and 7, the Senior Class presented "Abt Mem", a satirical comedy under the competent direction of Hr. Demshaw and Mr. Burns. The play took us ahead to the year 2050, exactly 100 years after the women had taken over the government. 'Ihe first act displayed to the audience the female-dominated home of Senator Elaine Stumm. Elaine, using her home as headquarters to oppose the third term re- election of President Jean Spring, was harrassed by her sobbing, hysterical spouse, Ronald Mielcarek, and her ungoverrnable, hoydenish child, llarilyn Myers. President 5pring's arrival brought with it the problems of a falling birthrate, an expected war with the female soldiers of Germany, and rumors of a rebellion irom the male P9P1118'bi0Y!9 'me problem became impossible after Major "Steelslats" Joanne Glor mde an inspection of America's secret and deadly weapons, only to return with the news that the women could not operate them because these machines 'shook their insides." Still wearing pants, he took over the govern- ment, bluffed Germany out of the war and put the women back in the household. In addition, he wooed and won the strong-minded ex-president.
