She was a. regu.1e.r teacher of the Second Grade of LCS, when she suffered a heart attack. The entire school felt the loss of her presence. The girls of the Senior Claes remember Mrs. Myers vith fond memories when she taught us physical edusetion in 1946. Her villingess, cheerfulnese, and patience endeared her to the school end our class. Therefore ve wish to write this hook with gateful thoughts of this fine roman. 3 Dedication P H Miss Frances Parise Each year, the graduating class dedicates its yearbook to someone who has especially helped the class, or has performed a special service for the conmmnity. We, the class of '52 feel that the sec- retary of this school fills both of these require ments. Therefore we dedicate "The Ales!" to Miss Frances Parise. She is always cheerful, efficient and friendly. Besides doing her own work, she aids the classes':Ln their financial and personal problems. We know Franny has worked much for us, as Seniors. This dedication is the expression of our appreciation to her. ll , Y E' Principal N ' vs , , r H ,ft Mr. A. Warren Dayton Our class is deeply indebted to the principal of this school, and friend of all, Mr. ,Dayton. His understanding and willingness to help has made him respected and admired by the entire student body. His genuine interest in people is illustrated by the many hours spent after school aiding troubled pupils in school or personal problems. His efficiency is demonstrated by the smooth manner in which our school is run. The Senior Glass is especially grateful for the advice he has given us in regard to vocations and future plans. We wouJ.d like to say a heartfelt 'lthank youn to the outstanding leader ol' this school. Thanks a lot, Mr. Dayton. V 5 Board Of Educauon i. lah-an--. JOYCE ZETTERBERG We look back on our last year and those preceding it with a feeling of pride in a job well done. The first activity of the year was a dance held in October, followed closely by our sale of magazines. In December, the Seniors held their an- nual Senior Ball. The class went to New York City on May lst for a four day stay. This was the goal for four years, and was the largest of our activities. Our graduation on June 23rd was the I crowning event of our year's labor - and activities. V75 . HYYNWN .ff 'fx W " xiii' ' Q A HSS 1S'EOI' he D eg gs .. . , N fl On a bright, sunmr morning in September of 19140, 28 eager faces started out to conquer the world of education. These were Suzanne Austin, Eleanor Brown, Dorothy Buckenmeyer, Eleanor Cupicha, Phyllis Geer, Joyce Glor, Nancy Goetz, Marilou Goetz, Emma Jean Grant, Gloria Greiner, Joyce Hoover, Rebecca Jack, Christine Klossner, Joan Meyers, Lois Parrish, Jean Hechter, Nellie Roth, Marian Wight, Az-lon Waite , Willard Wolfley, Charles Morse, John Morse, Ronald Charles, Shirley Schmieder, Jeanne Cochran, Henry Kreutter, Glen Dembowski, and Sta.nley Wiktorski. Our second year saw five new arrivals to Alexander. These were Robert Chaddock from District 5412, Paul I-Iartrick from Darien, Donald Kilby from Batavia, Beverly Beechler, and Ruth Weber from Attica. In our third year eight new faces appeared to share our experiences. These were Richard Hilken, David Huber, and Pearl Volino from Batavia, Leland Rennicks from Attica, Donald Tiede from Wyoming, Roger Chase from Darien, Janet Wirth from East Pembroke, and Carol Manwaring wfrom Buffalo, but Paul Hartrick was missing. We started our fourth year with Beverly Kingston from Buffalo, May Mallison from Bethany District FT, Monty Andrews from East Bethany, John Lavender from Darien, Donald Pestlin from District School 5 and Shirley Andrews, Ann Fuller, and Leon Wright from second grade. Roger Chase left us that year. Our hopes were still high in the clouds when we welcomed two new students in our fifth year. These were Donald Foster and Donald Tharnish from Batavia. Our class was ever expanding and in our sixth year we welcomed seven new young-hopefuls to our group. These were George Morse, Ronald Yaeger from Alden, Patricia Hampton from East Pembroke, Junamae Kendall and William Hinz from Batavia, Ann Armstrong from Buffalo, and Viola Trybuskiewicz from Darien, and that year Ann Fuller and Glen Dembowski moved from our district. Nancy Goetz, Marilou Goetz and Carol Manwaring had to leave our happy group. , Our eighth year found us nearing the end of our elementary education, and on the road to high school. We welcomed Robert Heding from Attica, and Ronald Metcalf and Darlene Hottois from Batavia. That year Suzanne Austin, Ruth Weber, Ronald Yaeger, and Hoy Estabrook were missing from our class. ' Our Freshman year found us practically in a new world, and we were all eager to do the right things. We were happy when Joseph Amedick from Darien, John Berry and Marvin Coisman from Batavia, and Norma Beeman and Alice Ferry from Alden joined us. Donald Kilby, Jokm Lavender, Donald Pestlin, Donald Tharnish, and William Hinz left us that eventful year. We elected officers to take care of our important. business. Mrs. Eager was our advisor. As our second-to-the-last year rolled around, three more students joined us. They were Roland Glosser from Warsaw, Richard Luce from Corfu, and Margaret Allen from Wyoming. That year Patricia Hampton, Ann Armstrong, Gordon Linsey, and Donald Wolff left us. Robert Meisner and Edward Reilly graduated with the class of '51 A Our class officers ,that year were: May Malliscn, President, Arlon Waite, Vice-President, Lois Parrish, Secretary, Glen Dembowski, Treasurer. Mrs. Eager was again our advisor. As our last glorious and long awaited year came forward, we were sorry that Robert Reding, John Morse, Roland Glosser, and Margaret Allen had to leave us. As our class officers this year we elected May Mallison, President, George Morse, Vice-President, Marian Wight, Secretary, Dorothy Buckenmeyer, Treasurer. Miss Lester and Mr. Bar-an'acted as our advisors. At the time of this printing, we are looking forward to the trip to New York, which is one of the most cherished activities of our twelve years in school, but most of all--to graduation. In the last two years we have become more independent and received more enjoy- ment by making up our own arrangements. we are best known for our version of nGhost of a Chancen.' This was a delightful three-act comedy directed by Hr. Zh.-ank Demshaw and Student Director Miss Lois Parrish. The play opened when Hrs. Abbot, the social climber of the Abbot family, invited. her new society friends to stay for the week. Grandma came unexpected- ly and also invited Patch Imrplv and his family, believing they were Cousin Oscar and his family. Many exciting mir-raps occured when Patch tied. up the family and Grandma captured him with her old shot gsm. The story ended happily when Mrs. Abbot realized that her society friends did.n't mean as mch to her as the love of her family. b The cast was as follows: Joyce Abbot Willie Abbot Marion Abbot Jim Meyerson Shorty Grandma Dottie Sadie Miss Welch Mrs Carlson Patch Mabel Bubbles Cousin Oscar Elvin Carlson Phyllis Geer Nellie Roth Clarence Johnson Shirley Andrews Glen Dembowski Jack Berry Janet Wirth Joyce Zetterberg Joyce Glor Joyce Hoover Gloria Gfreiner Ronald Metcalf Jean Rechter Joan Meyers tanley Wiktorski. harles Morse At 'H u Y' 1 MM - 'a .:"' f '5Q - VW' 'f'.i.Sq EEN .
