Baseball Team Slides Into Second Bettering the most successful sea- son in Hamilton's history seemed like an impossible task for the 1973 varsity baseball team. But though no titles were taken, once again the team came up with an outstanding record, taking second place to Boy's Tech in the Flag Division of the City Conference with a 17-4 record. Junior pitcher John Barkovich evolved as one of the most exciting performers of the season by leading all pitchers in such categories as: most wins, 13g most strikeouts, 1405 while yielding a mere four earned runs in 99 2X3 innings. For his ac- complishments Iohn was named a first team All-City selection. Also claiming first team All-City status was Brian Casodante who hit .328 while performing in the outfield. Rick Schultz and Gary Gulbronson made the second All-City team. Gul- bronson lead the Hamilton batsmen with a .404 average - second best in the league. Other leading hitters were junior Mark Bandlow, .342g and senior Rick Schultz, .309. Coach Hrlevich
