The season got off to an ex- citing start with a 28 to 22 victory over Crowley and finished with back to back victories over Alvarado and Lake Worth. asketball Lady Cats Accept Challen es The varsity girls team faced a challenging season this year by play- ing excellent teams with more ex- perience and older players. The team had only five senior players, but they always worked to the best of their ability. Athletics was first period, to the dismay and amazement of all the players. That meant early practices at 7:15 and going to every class after first tired and weak. Yet, throughout grueling workouts, sprints, and some disheartening losses the girls' spirit never died. Every victory was fought hard and won with pride. The Lady Cats this year had speed, charm and a dazzling ability to win over the crowd in seconds. The final game of the year proved to be the heartbreaker. After being down once by ten, the tear fought back to within two points bu then lost to Cedar Hill. The senior had a season to reflect back on, bu the juniors and three sophomores hai seasons of the future to look forwari to. Things in the next coming season look like they will just get better ant better for the Lady Cats. S. Lynch., S. Rainer, M. Dunn, J. Marsden, A. Ray, D. Kuehl, T. Young, E. Palmer, R. Ham, S.
