Look at Those Aides I just called to say I love you. Stephanie Varuska, Mrs. Howard's aide, calls to order some music to be used in classes. The yearbook staff interviewed several teachers to find out what qualities they looked for in an aide. Coach Heckers said that he looked for usomeone who accepts responsibility readily and has the ability to instruct the younger kids and doesn't become bossy. Also, someone who is always on time and will readily assist me in any and all duties. Q Xxx ............,...... f, fl The teachers aide program has been in existence for several years and has proven to be very effective both for the teachers and the students involved. However, with the educational reforms brought about by House Bill 76 the program is being curtail- ed and is in danger of being eliminated. In order to be a teacher's aide, the student must be approved by both the teacher with whom he or she will be work- ing and Mr. Scott, who is in charge of the program. Also the student must be a junior or senior and must be passing his or her academic classes. Students receive one-half credit for one full year of aiding. Right . . . Wrong . . . Right . . .
