About 1,000 people attended the two performances of the musical. The story centered around the draft- ing of Conrad Birdie, a swivel-hipped, almost disgusting Elvis-type rock star. His manager, Albert Peterson, and his secretary, Rosie Alvarez, stage one last kiss before Birdie departed. The lucky recipient of this kiss is 15-year-old Kim McAffie of Sweetapple, Ohio.
