Suzanne Colburn and left Whitaker step to the front stage as their names are announced win' ncrs of the Frtendliest category during the morning performance. Below: Sighs could he heard from the audience as Roy Cathey sang l Write the Song one category, thus distributing honors to more students than in some previous years. Fourteen seniors crowded into their Russian setting at Coronation for the presentation of three categories. Other winners were announced in the morn- ing performance. All of the categories were elected by seniors except most beautiful and handsome, selected by judges, and Mr. and Ms. Aldine, elected bythe student body. Seniors Belinda Stockwell and Danny Hindmon, hosted the audience on its world tour at the Coronation with sen: ior choir members and Vaqueras enter- taining ateach countryvisited. Salutatorian Wants Riches Brains ought to be worth some- thing, Mary Ng salutatorian said. To see if her theory is correct Mary plans to do anything that will make me rich quick when she finishes her schooling, she said. After graduation, Mary plans to enter Rice University with an emphasis in the science field. I would love to be a professional student. Then whatever you're interested in, you just go for it, she said, Like all graduating seniors, Mary is scared to pieces about being non-dependent. M .-.. fa mrv.g..-.aw 'fm -ca: Valedictorian Stays Active Extracurricular activities took up much of valedictorian Susan Spencefs time. lt was just a lot of dedication that helped her find time to be involved in school activities and also keep her grade point average. I just have made myself do the things that needed to be done, she said. Susan said that her outstanding educational experience while at Aldine was getting to attend the model United Nations meetings in New York, The work preparing for the con- ference and the experience of the trip made me more aware of everything going on in the world. Everyone should have that chance once in a lifetime, she said.
