Selecting pictures, laying out pages, and writing stories are just a few of the many jobs the Cubette staff undertakes in order to com- plete the yearbook. Many people are needed to help make the Cubette a success. Co-edi- tors Gretchen Luttmann and Kim Rogness worked with many seniors and advisor Mr. Hall throughout 1987-1988. The Cubette staff would like to thank Mr. David Larsen for all of his hard work throughout the year taking pictures which hopefully made this Cubette a success. Paige Gubbrud, Shelly Feekes. This year the Declam team consisted of sev- en members. With the help and advice of their advisor, Mrs. Wensing, the members individual- ly worked on their declam pieces and pre- pared for contest. The members, competing in three different categories, participated in the Alcester Meet at which three members earned the right to continue on. The Alcester High Student Council, made up of elected representatives from the classes and organizations, worked very hard this year to raise school spirit and pride. The council started a Student of the Week program which recognized outstanding students for various accomplishments. With Mr. Joachim's guidance, the student council members also planned Homecoming Week and Sweetheart activities. The Student Council did a good job of both representing and recognizing AHS students. The National Honor Society, made up of those juniors and seniors with a grade point average of 3.0 and above, was busy raising money for scholarships and graduation honor cords. Through candy sales, the NHS awarded three $100 scholarships to seniors. The group voted on who would receive the scholarships. The annual fruit sales helped them earn money for their various activities throughout the year. Two F.F.A.er's, Joe VanBallegooyen and Ed Wil- liams, attended the national convention in Kansas City, and two judging teams earned the right to participate in the state contest which was held in April.
