Student Council Improves School Under the guidance of Keith Lapour as President and the oth- er officers, the Student Council was involved in many projects. With the cooperation of the members, the officers and Mr. Joachim, the advisor, they se- lected themes for Sweetheart and Homecoming as well as set up the Homecoming week com- petitions. Declam Team Competes With Mr. Vissia as coach, the seven people in declam traveled to Yankton for the District competitions. At that tournament Kathryn Treiber and Rob Heiman recieved an excellent on their duet memorization speech. Mary Hen- dricks, serious interpretation of dra- ma, Ross Abraham, humorous, and Johnette Banks, oratory; also each re- ceived an Excellent. Amy Sundstrom received a superior rating for poetry and went on to Regional Competition in Sioux Falls. 22
