If You Remember Me Top Left-Jon’s had his eyes on Kristen for too long! Top Middle-Wilfred Hetzel — Eat your heart out Remembrance of Sweetheart 1981 was em- phasized by the theme “If You Remember Me . As Rochelle Twedt began to play the theme song, “If You Remember Me”, Jon Leafstedt, MC, announced the Sweetheart Candidates. They were Nancy Bergdale es- corted by Mike Newberg, Susie Brady escort- ed by Scott Livingston, Jolynne Crawford escorted by Chris Embrock, Rhonda Jurgen- sen escorted by Matt Eilers, and Holly Mer- rick escorted by Jeff Newberg. As the envelope was opened, the crowd awaited with anticipation on who would be the next queen. Finally it was announced that Susie Brady would reign over the 1981 Sweetheart Coronation. She was crowned by Student Body President, Susan Heiman. Kathy Limoges presented Queen Susie with a box of candy provided by the Student Council. Then the classes and organizations presented a program based on the “Academy Awards”. KELO Disco on Wheels provided music for the dance that followed the coronation. Student Council Gets Involved The Student Council officers for the year were Susan Heiman-Presi- dent, Matt Eilers-Vice President, Jo- lynne Crawford-Secretary, and Susie Brady-Treasurer with Mr. Zingler as their advisor. The officers and stu- dents, who represented the various classes and organizations, accom- plished many things this year. They selected the themes for Homecoming and Sweetheart coro- nations. At Christmas, they provided the student body with the movie “Brian’s Song” and candy bars. The Student Council set up games for a class competition held before Christ- mas vacation. They also bought the candy which was presented to the Sweetheart Queen. Above Top Left-Student Council provided Santa to treat the students at the Christmas movie.
