Right 1979 Royalty, Row 1, Brenda W., Heidi H., Rochelle P., Row 2, Mary Ann D. , Queen Rachelle, Sheryl G. ABC Captures Sweetheart Event Sweetheart Queen, Rachelle Merrick, along with her court of Rochelle Pederson, Brenda Winquist, Sheryl Gabel, and Mary Ann Dunlap, was the main emphasis of the ABC (Alcester Broadcasting Company) Broadcast on February 23, 1979, The broadcast took place live from the Alcester High School Auditorium, with announcers Natasha Noteworthy and Morey Less (played by Kelli Lapour and Brian Ludwig, respectively). Special appearances were made by Latka from Taxi (Scott Livingston) and Bess Mess, a former beauty queen (Vicki Twedt). Many commercials and news reports were also given, to the enjoyment of the crowd. The Coronation broadcast was followed by a Disco-dance from KELO radio. A lot of fun and many happy memories were created on that February night. 14

Two performances were given March 22 and 23. Love was in the air and on every street corner as six girls from America toured Paris. Some problems came up, which were handled with a French flair, and the girls went home with memories of many friendships made.
