Freshmen Start School A new and different challenge awaited the freshmen as they entered the halls of Aicester High. Forty-three girls and boys registered for their classes. Among the subjects offered were: English, math, algebra, science, home economics, agriculture, and general business. Extra-curricular activities were also an exciting part of their first year in high school. Larry Roduner studied chemistry for six weeks at Augustana College this summer. Picture two: Eilene Tiltrum and Elaine Rowley received the DAR Award and the Betty Crocker Homemaker Award, respectively. Picture one; Linda Roduner tells Linda M. Carlson about her'trip to Washington D. C. which she was awarded as the winner of the State Handicap Essay. Linda M. was the winner of the local REA Coop- erative essaycontest and will also travel to Washington D.C. this summer. Picture two: Elaine Rowley and Paul Thormodsgard congratulate each other on being salutatorian and valedictorian, respectively. They were winners of the State 'Why I Want to be a Teacher” Essay Contest and third place in the State ’Smoking and Your Health Essay Contest.
