KING WINSTON QUEEN KATHY On September 21, 1961, Kathy Moberg and Winston Edson were crowned Homecoming Queen and King of Alcester High School. A large crowd was in attendance to see them march in to the tune of Blue Moon, theme of the occasion. Senior class president Dennis Stene and student body representative Claudia Hammerstrom crowned the queen and king. The four high school classes then presented selections to entertain the royalty. Following the coronation a pep fest was held around a bonfire northeast of the school. The following night, Friday, the Cubs defeated the Hurley Bulldogs in the Homecoming game.
