FDURTII GRADE The fourth grade commenced the year wxth 17 glrls and 7 boys Durmg the year two students moved away They were Lyle Watklns and Mary Carol Sheldon Many new and mterestlng thlngs were learned th1s year Thexr subjects were arxthmetlc readmg writing spelllng English health science history and geography They also took art music and physical educat1on The many holldays were enjoyed wxth partxes at Halloween Chrlstmas and Valentlne s Day They also enjoyed belng 1n the Chrlstmas program They were happy to have so many vnsltors In thelr room at open house and they were proud to show the guests a few of the thxngs they had accomplxshed durlng the year THIRD GRADE The year of 1952 1953 began wlth 11 boys and 15 glrls ln the tlnrd grade During the year they lost Dennls Moore and Gary Smlth and galned Mary .lean Foley and Jean Bahr They had a very busy year learnlng many thlngs about people of other lands To help them wlth thelr study they saw a serles of movxes of children of dlfferent lands ln thexr sclence studles the third graders gaxned much knowledge about how anmnls lnve and protect themselves Of course becomlng good readers and spellers were hxgh on therr hst of goals To break the routxne of lessons they had fun at thelr Halloween party Chrxstmas party Chrlslmas program and Valentine party ln addltlon they made valentlnes for the chlldren s hospltal SIXTH GRADE The slxth grade teacher Mrs Ralph Wrnght was greeted by 17 students thls year Then the fu'st semester the class lost Roger Fink and added Larry Foley to the roll The second semester Faynette Bohr jomed the class The s1xth grade enjoyed a hay rack rlde and wlener roast at Mrs Wrlght s home early ln the fall The Chrlstmas program was a bxg event for the snxth graders for Kathy Flltsch played the part of Columbla and other students had promlnent parts ln the play Judy Klrk James Berry and Steven Schmlckle had perfect attendance the fxrst semester FIFTH GRADE In the fall of 1952 the flfth grade began wlth an enrollment of thlrty puplls 15 boys and 15 girls Marlene Van Coys stayed for only seven days Wesley Rus entered later but he soon left Herbert Dryman entered ln January They lost two of thelr flrst enrollment Terry Moore and .lud1thTedder Karen Wlllmott was absent for about seven weeks because of a heart ailment: otherwlse they had a very good attendance for the fll'8t semester Jems Atz lnvlted the flfth graders and thelr teacher Mlss Paul to her home to watch the mauguratlon of our Presldent on televlslon. lt was very lnterestlng and educational everyone enjoyed xt . . .
