The purpose was really to show hovx much more sensible a non-intervention policy would be. The outcome of the debate was planned be- forehand. For the first time in debate history twelve' responsi- ble judges were chosen from the student body. As a tina question for debate was chosen the proposal--Resolved: that Congress should adopt the Rooseveltian policy regarding the Supreme Court. Mr. Simpson was sponsor and did much to- ward making debating an activity in our school again. el937 Pwgc Ninety Seven LA REATA H, mfw- ...Q e .- A ,.x to M ,Q 3.- Q "7 !SdIXh 'Mild 'ii' I lu-o.f.a.u... bun 3 MARKSMANSHIP M1 Hltchons onv of tht sponsors of thc Rlfh Club Thi 06.10131 N110 talget Then uc 1 lot of hull s Lyts than Bllllngs Bob McFlvf.nV and Kenneth bann dxspldv 1 talget thmv vt Just ptppsrui MQTIIIQ Mdcfnbbon and Ed Landon shoot mg' plone M1 Hltchens IQ at thc glxss Mon prom shootlng' Howard 'Nlcholson Ioon Gllcs md Wxlll 1111 Koulds shootmg, off hand Aftu the match 'Nota tht SIHIILS of wttoly dlspl xyul by Wh Hltths ns md M1 Hurlngton 1937 P454 Num ty Elght CLUBS Lcft to rlght Fust row Ruth P0141 Mugouc lvllllg Mane Jensen H ntl Brvm Ruth Bryxn Ims H xgland M'1lW Iowtll Muv Io bcott Second low qtcvt Koch Bob Dunswolth Albut Fold Tom Yxtts Ruth Btbbu Chllstlne DIQIS Lrul 1 Bmllc Mc Follum Leonald Blllxngs Clllfillfl 1'l1lSt0I1L I'IOWd1Kl 'Vlcholson Thlld low M Halrmgrton George Tabor Fdwm Landon Howard Qpezu Tohn Marten Flank W eh RIFLE CLUB HE Albuquerque Hlgh School Rrfle Club was m N augurated mto the hlgh school rn October 1936 5 I It lmmedlately became one of the most popular I clubs ln the school At first shoots were held every Saturday at the YMCA Rifle Range These shoots frequently lasted all day Srnce that tlme a range has been constructed m the machme shops which wlll accommodate two men prone three off hand The Rllle Club IS afhllated wlth the National Rlfle Assocxatlon of America as a jumor unit l the new gym burldmg a modern complete ten pomt firing lme range IS to be built In addrtlon to other facllrtxes the Rlfle Club owns two class A target rrfles and a Wollensok spottmg scope and has permlsslon to use the new Dulce Cnty Rifle Range and the government rlfle range Letters are awarded to a speclhed percentage of members on a basls of all around marksmanshlp Ofhcers were ack Bradley pres rdent Count Frrestone vlce presrdent C-ordon Wood sec retary Dan Llmpert treasurer The sponsors are Mr Har rmgton and Mr Hitchens 1 9 3 7 Page Nmcty Nlm.
