6614.4 .jskaforg In the fall of 1949, 55 boys and girls from jefferson, York, Green, and Albion townships met at Albion High School to begin our high school careers. It didn't take long for us country and city cousins to get together to hold our place in high school. We elected the following class officers: Robert Miser, president, Ted Shisler, vice- president, Phyllis McCoy, secretary, and Bonnie Renkenberger, treasurer. Mrs. Weimer and Mr. Brill were our class sponsors. We had two class parties that year, one in the school cafeteria and the other was a barn party at the home of Beverly Boggs. When we started our sophomore year, we had an enrollment of 52. We were then among those who tread on the green freshmen. We elected the following class xfficers: Ted Shisler, president, Robert Miser, vice-president, Jean Gappinger, secretary, and Phyllis McCoy, treasurer. Mrs. Church and Mr. Brill were our class sponsors. This was the year to order our class sweaters, and, after much discussion, we decided on maroon sweaters with gray letters. We were now juniors and belonged to the upper classmen. We lost some of our students and now had an enrollment of 41. Our class officers for the year were jean Gappinger, presidentg Duane Guthrie, vice-president, and Phyllis McCoy, secre- tary-treasurer. Mrs. Austill and Mr. Little were our class sponsors. This was the year we ordered our class rings. We had concessions at the ball games and at the county tournament. We gave a class play, Finders Creepers, on April 17 and 18 with Mrs. Austill as director. At last we were seniors. In October we gave our class play, Let Me Out of Here, under the direction of Mrs. Austill. We put out the school paper, THE GRAPEVINE, and this annual. We made trips to see our county government in action at the county court house, the state government at Indianapolis, and the national government at Washington, D. C. Our class officers for the year were Charles Stanley, president, Ted Shisler, vice-president, and Kay Staton, secretary-treasurer. Mr. Parker was our class sponsor. We had an enrollment of 38, and, of the original 55, 57 will be graduated.
