97Riverstreet entertains at prom
The Junior Class worked hard to make Prom '80 a big success. “Riverstreet provided the entertainment following the reading of the last will and testament. Everyone had a great time. As the Jr.-Sr. Prom drew to a close, only beautiful memories of an exciting evening remained, making it one of the "times of your life!”

105Sophomores capture first with Charlie Brown
The lovable yet sympathy-evoking Charlie Brown captured the hearts of the Coronation audience as he traveled to Fantasy Island in an attempt to win friends and a baseball game. Charlie had a championship victory almost in his hands when he awoke to find it was all a dream. But was it really a dream? At any rate, the little red-haired girl saved the day for him by giving him his first kiss.
106Junior class takes second
The Junior Class took the second place prize in the skit competition, with their presentation of "Dennis the Menace: Date With a Real Dream.” Dennis dreamed that he was a contestant on the Dating Game. When he met the girl of his dreams, it was Margaret. At discovering this Dennis was apprehensive about the date. His reluctance was ignored and he had to escort Margaret to Grauman's Chinese Theater. After this, he carried her roller-disco-ing. At the end of the date. Margaret shocked Dennis by trying to get a goodnight kiss. The shock woke Dennis, and he realized it was just a dream (or nightmare!).

107Seniors “feel a draft” in third place
Third place honors went to the Senior Class for its adaptation of a popular comic strip to a lighthearted view of the hostage crisis and the Afghan invasion. Thus, Archie, Jughead, and the gang were nabbed by the Selective Service in "Archie's Gang Gets Drafted,” making a sudden transition from civilian to military life via the induction center and its caustic proprietors. The Archie skit used light sarcasm to illustrate some of the flaws of government, but concluded with the song “God Bless America” and a feeling of patriotism.
108Freshmen present “Smith vs. Smith”
Conflicts of the marriage kind formed the motif for the Freshman skit, “Smith vs. Smith.” Lovveezy, after winning a hog-calling contest, was able at last to leave the drudgery of Hootin' Holler for the bright lights of Chicago. Her illusions about the glanour of city life were soon shattered, however, as she discovered that Snuffy preferred the company of sophisticated city girls to the homely companionship of his wife. The skit ended with a heart-warning reconciliation, as Snuffy discovered the true value of his home and family.

195stuaent council is great!”
And a great year it was. The officers attended summer camp at Montevallo and came back excited and ready to make the year the very best. The Student Council entertained teachers with a coffee and donut breakfast before school started. At the pep rally of the first home football game they sold football programs and gave away prizes. They also sponsored a disco dance after a home football game.
One of the main events of the Student Council was Homecoming which was a great success. They also held a Blood Drive collecting over 200 pints of blood.
Student Council Representatives and alternates were Secret Pal's to teachers and administration which topped off an exciting and challenging year.

The Future Business Leaders of American is an orgnanization of students who wish to learn more of the business world. The meetings this year ranged from what kind of make-up to wear in the office to what an executive looks for in an employee. With the combined efforts of the sponsors, Mrs. Little, Mrs. Hudgens, and Mrs. Gipson, the officers, and most importantly, the members, FBLA had one of its most successful years. In April, the Albertville Chapter of FBLA hosted the District VI FBLA Meeting, and the club is happy to report that students of Albertville placed in almost all of the divisions of competition. The Albertville Chapter of FBLA is growing, yet it is not growing only in number but in character prestige, and determination.

GRADUATION ... Now it is all over — the autographs, the tearful parting, the students with their proud parents, the feeling of being "grown up," the sudden realization that high school days will be no more. I have a deep respect for the kids of Albertville High School. I wish I could be with each of you to turn the pages of this memorable yearBILLY LOWERY MOTORSCAHILL INSULATION

THE ROAD GOODBYE
The road I took was named Goodbye The path looked strange. I wondered why It left familiar things behind.
A hand caught mine.. .1 paid no mind.
The stranger never once did say Just what had brought him on my way.
On we went, and some afraid I wished I hadn't come, but stayed.
All the friends that I once knew Took a road named Goodbye too.
There were no two roads just the same Though all were called Goodbye by name.
The road went on; we went on too,
And 1 was sad, for then I knew That never could I be the same Having walked down Goodbye Lane.
And though I couldn’t understand We walked together hand in hand.
We said no words, but just walked on,
1 thought of things now past and gone.
I thought of games I'd lost and won,
I thought of all the things I’d done-I thought of those I loved and cared,
Of times we’d had, of things we shared.
I thought of those I’d come to know.
Just knowing them —they'd helped me so.
I thought of things, of tears I’d shed ...
Those same things now brought smiles instead.
The tasks I’d done, those left to do,
I wondered how I’d make it through When something inside seems to say,
“The best you can from day to day.”
The way was rough, I knew the score.
It never ends... There’s always more.
But now I know that all in all Each thing in its own place will fall.
I thought of all the happy days.
The sad ones now just seemed a haze
And in a flash I came to see
How much the past had meant to me.
We walked along — I wondered where The future led and what was there.
The past still echoed from behind I was its, and it was mine.
But in my heart was still a fear,
And in my eye a shinnig tear;
Yet on my face there was a smile,
And we walked forward all the while.
I walked along the road Goodbye.
I looked back once ... I heaved a sigh.
Then I remembered at my side —
My silent, but my constant guide.
The stranger’s hand I felt in mine.
I looked into his face this time.
I asked his name — he turned just so,
He smiled and said, “I'm called Hello.”274«o
