Freshman Float.Valentine DanceMilitary Ball This year's R.O.T.C. Ball was the first to be held since 1973. It is said to have been one of the most successful Military Balls ever held in Albertville High School’s history. The setting for this event was at the Guntersville State Park. The program consisted of a banquet style meal, followed by a leadout which was headed by the Commanding Officers, Commanding Cadet Officers and their dates, and ended with a dance for all attending guests. Miss Kelly Camp was crowned Queen, with Debbie Oliver and Barbara Newbourne as alternates. 101Juniors Host 1977 Prom Stairway To Hea ven Senior Class President Carla Floyd, escorted by David Culp headed the leadout. In honor of the occasion the past kings and queens of Albertville High School were invited to return. They were presented with the Coronation Court, led by Queen Noel Baird and King Gil Bruce. Nostalgia was intermingled with the gaiety that always surrounds Albertville High School’s Coronation and Ball. 106 Master of Ceremonies: Robert Crist107 Bearing the King's sceptor - Corey Corbin, Bearing the Queen's flowers - Adrianne Paris, Bearing the Queen's scepter - Alexis Crawford, Bearing the Queen’s crown - Christy Ferguson. Bearing the King's crown - Anthony Head.Seniors Present Following the crowning of the King and Queen, the presentations of the skits at the Coronation Ball mark the height of competition between the four classes at Albertville High School. All skits are based on one central theme but the interpretation and style of each skit shows the creativity and ingenuity that prevails in our student body. This year's theme, Fantastic Fantasies produced four excellent skits, all based on a childhood fairy tale. The Seniors chose the classic Aladdin and His Magic Lamp, which was converted into the first place skit A1 Luddin and His Magic Lamp. The Sophomore Class claimed second place with their interpretation of, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Junior Class won third place with, Babes in Toy-land. Seniors put the joking and laughter behind them and seriously worked in the drive, doing their part in giving blood. Several Seniors worked hard all day helping the Red Cross take blood pressures, temperatures, and helped in serving the refreshments to the blood donors.
