(Coach Stone was not present when the picture was taken).Coach Thomas “Scoop” Howard (Mississippi-Southern) Coach Thomas “Scoop” Howard, who has acted as head coach at Albertville, has proven himself to be one of the best coaches in the history of the school. We are greatly indebted to him for turning out a good team for the ’47 season and hope he will be with us again next year. Coach Boyce Stone, an Albertville boy, offered his able assistance to the Albertville High School. Although Stone was not on the School payroll, he was out to every practice helping in every way. He acted as line coach and turned out one of the best lines in this part of the state. Coach Boyce Stone (Howard)Herman Black Eugene Branum Joe Brown (R. H. B.) (R. G.) (L. E.) Although Boaz had played two games before the Aggie's season opened. Albertville was favored. After a hard-fought game, the Aggies came out on top with a score of 31 to 6. —o—o—o— ALBERTVILLE DOWNS BLOUNT The Aggies displayed a real football team when they downed the favored Blount County Team 7 to 6. The game was a real thriller every minute. Although the Aggies let the Blount County Boys get a big jump on them, they came back with the roughes, hardest game seen in many years. ■0—0—0' JACKSON COUNTY HOLDS ALBERTVILLE 7 TO 7 The Albertville Aggies visited Jackson County High School after their victory over Blount County Team, to engage in a little more fight than they had expected. Although the Aggies did get off to a good start they were unable to continue this good work. Injuries, hard-luck and overconfidence hind- ! ered the Aggies. This game ended in a 7 to 7 tie. AGGIES 2 - ARAB 0 Arab High School forfeited this 1 game to the Aggies due to an unfortunate death of one of the Arabian students. —o—o—o AGGIES PLAY BEST GAME OF SEASON When the Aggies played Etowah on October 24. the chances looked very slim for Albertville. However, there are only eleven men on each team. The pame turned out to be the best game of the season, also the hardest The Etowah Team won 7 to 0 but Albertville won a moral victory. —0—0—0— ALBERTVILLE 13 SOUTHSIDE 13 After the great game with Etowah County High School, it looked as if he Aggies would have a very easy game with the underrated Southside of Gadsden. However, all of the game, Southside outplayed the Aggies. The game ended in a 13 to 13 tie. —0—0—0— HEARTBREAKER Although the Aggies were highly favored, the Marshall County High School won 18 to 12. AGGIES SHOW CULLMAN THAT SIZE IS NOT ALL THAT COUNTS The Cullman football teem visited the Aggies on November 7, only to return a beaten and a battered team. In all of the game the Aggies played haid football, but they received many hard breaks. However Albertville came out on top with a 6 to 0 victory. —o—o—o— ALBERTVILLE 33 GERALDINE 18 A game in which almost every member of the squad participated was that of November 17, when he Aggies beat Geraldine 33 to 18. 26 points is the highest number of points scored n the first half of a ball game at Albertville in over 4 years. —o—o—o— ALBERTVILLE GALLOPS OVER DcKALLB 20 TO 13 The Aggies again demonstrated their footbabll ability by defeating the undefeated DeKalb County football team of Fort Payne 20 to 13. The game proved to be very exciting but most of the game was tied. But the Aggies came back the last quarter with everything it took to have a 20 to 13 victory.HOMECOMING SPONSORS Above are the sponsors for the Annual Homecoming Game.
