Guiflgmfc Square dancing made its way into the activities of both the boys' and girls' physical education classes this past year. For the boys it was the hrst tilne that square dancing has been a part of their regular gym classes. They were slow starters but once they learned they enjoyed it lor the lour weeks during which it was a part of their regular classes. The other sports the girls competed in included volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, tumbling and the required exercises. For the boys, basketball and football were again the principal sports. while wrestling, volleyball, kit- tenball, tumbling and exercises were stressed. Health and lirst aid classes were held for all the senior high students. They were taught by the gyin in- structors, Mr. Paul XVilke, Miss Lois Spencer, Miss Donna Heise and Mr. LeRoy Maas. The classes were held four days a week with physical education held on the fifth. This program offered training for the students in these courses as well as providing for the physical welfare ol' the body in the physical education courses. Page IS

As a part of this class, students obtain part iime jobs and actually learn the work first hand. Pld- ucating students lor work in stenography, bookkeep- ing and secretarial ollices is the task of Miss Iva Loy. Students interested in typing may take that subject any one ol' their three senior high school years. XVhat crops to plant? NVhicl1 type of seed to use? 'lihese are just two ol' the many subjects discussed in the agriculture classes. Agriculture is offered to all boys in senior high who are interested in farming as a lutttre profession. Miss Alice Gammell, who is in charge ol the sen- ior high attendance, reported that 40 students had dropped school by the end of the first semester as compared to 30 which is the usual number.
