The lights dim and the curtains slowly open for the first act of Crossroads. Upon the stage, one by one, appear the stars of the production, and you are able to peer into the past and visualize the many activities that have prepared them for this greatest of all performances. It also becomes clear who, from among the stars, can be classified as the star performers. As the act progresses you become aware of the im- portant behind-the-scenes understudies, the newcomers to the theater, the starlets, and the beginning actors and actresses who are so fondly called, “child prodigies.” ACT I “ Travel Daze” ' Morning after the night before’
