EDIT0R8'
Although being on the 1980 Thronateeska Staff was a rewarding experience, everybody on the staff was quite relieved when the last deadline was met.
I would like to thank the 26 people on annual Staff, Mrs. DeLoach, and Miss Hogg because without the contribution of each one the making of this annual would have been impossible.
We hope this book will preserve memories for you that might otherwise fade. And in the future when you look back through the annual you will remember the Good Times, Spirit, and Friends at A.H.S.

ME88AGE
During this year many long hours were spent by the 1980 Thronateeska Staff on the preparation of the annual.
Each person helped in his or her own way. I would like to thank each person on the staff for the jobs that they performed. A special thanks goes to Ty and John, our photographers, and David, our artist. A very special thanks goes to our advisors, Mrs. DeLoach and Miss Hogg, for their guidance throughout the year.
"The better part of ones life consists of his friendships." This quote by Abraham Lincoln sums up the theme of our annual. If you look around at your friends, you’ll realize that these are "fragile times" — times that will be gone before we know it. Things are happening now that we’ll never be able to relive. We must capture today before it O.one forever. As this year draws to a close, may this annual help you recall the special times of this year at Albany High School.
Junior Editor
oFor thirteen years of dedicated service to us — we, the Albany High School Annual staff, dedicate the 1980 Thronateeska to you — Mrs.
Rose Marie Mitcheson. We would like to say thanks for all the help which you have given A.H.S. in the past years.
Good Luck in the future and may God bless you.

It was an honor to be appointed as your Student Body President. Even though we have had some ''ups'' and "downs," we still have succeeded with spirit and enthusiasm The spirit at Albany High has been very good this year I have enjoyed working with the Student Council and the Student'Body this year and I hope next year will be even greater I encourage all Students to take pride in their
20It’s problems; It’s fun;
It’s discouraging; It’s challenging;
It’s rewarding; It’s Homecoming!
Being Vice-President of A H.S. Student Body this year has been all of the above; yet, it has also made this a memorable year for me. Thank you for the chance to be your Vice-President.

Ann Simpson — Vice-President
Carlos, Ann, and Susan are some of the most outstanding students at A.H.S. They contribute not only in their capacities as President, Vice-President, and Sec.-Treasurer of the Student Body, but also as energetic members of various clubs. We would like to thank them for their spirit, hard work, and loyalty toward us.
As some of you other seniors know, transferring to a new school for your senior year is hard. I just didn’t want to come. My old friends, teachers, and a familiar building would all be changed. I would be a senior and feel like a sophomore! But A.H.S. certainly surprised me. My senior year has been great. I have lots of new friends, I know the teachers, and I don’t get lost!
Being elected as a Student Council representative was a great honor, but then being elected Sec.-Treas. — I can’t even describe. Thanks. A.H.S. for making my senior year great!

The festivities started out with a pep rally and parade The Junior Class won first place in the float competition, with Annual Staff second and Junior Classical League third. During half-time of the game, more activities took place. Monty Johnson and Audrey Doyal danced to K-Jee, performed by the Marching Chiefs and Becky Osburn was crowned this year's Homecoming Queen. At the end of a thrilling game, the score was tied, 10-10, forcing the game into overtime. Although the game ended in defeat for the Indians, 23-10, Homecoming 1979 will always be remembered for its figh-tin' Indian Spirit.

75ALBANY DEFEATS W.H.S.
A.H.S. scored more points than it did all of last season as the Indians stomped Westover High. 27-0. By the rotating of quarterbacks, strong defense, and leaping snag catches in the end zone Albany High was bound to win Coach Wood-ham was quoted as saying "A win's a win. We're going to enjoy it tonight and then go back to work tomorrow." And the fighting Indians did just that.
