Much planning and work went into this dance and those who attended enjoyed a delightful evening. The ulack Frost" weather was perfect for our theme, Alaska '-19. The gym was trans- formed into an Alaskan wonderland with dog- sleds, igloos. and isnowf At 10:30 everyone lined up on both sides of the gym and heartily greeted the new King and Queen, Paul Krouner and Augusta Spellman. The King and Queen were crowned amidst the splendor of snow and frolic and took their places on the dog-sled throne. The Queen's Court consisted of Myrna Nadel, Diane Donnelly and Helen Vllcitz. The 1959 Garnet and Cray Staff. under the persevering leadership of Editor-in-Chief, Ed Alangelsdorf, and able mcntorship of adviser, Albert Odom, has strived to produce an annual that would serve as a tool of reminiscence for the departing Senior Class. Almost entirely a Senior Class activity, it has proved itself to be a strong uniting factor of the Senior Class. The 1959 Garnet and Gray pays tribute to the stu- dent body and faculty of Albany High School and remains as a perpetual link to the many unforgettable memories of our high school years and the present. The Foreign Student Exchange, now en- joying its second year of existence at A.H.S., has as its goal a program for exchanging stu- dents from Albany High School and a foreign country for a promotion of study and culture. Under the capable leadership of president Paul Menitoff and adviser Bessie Reiss, it has completed the necessary requirements for ful- filling its program. The Debate Team functioned this year under its first National Forensic League Charter since the post war period.
