. ,Q Effective 1 November 1958, ALBANY'S hull classification and number were changed to ICG- 101, and exactly four years later, she emerged from the yards as the world's most powerful warship. On her maiden voyage off the Virginia Capes, on 30 january 1963, ALBANY fired two TALOS and a TARTAR, marking the first time three missiles had been launched from a warship simultaneously. This displayed, convin- cingly, the immense capabilities of a modern man-of-war. As such, the ALBANY made her presence felt, having extensive deployments in the Garib- bean, the Atlantic, and the Mediterranean.
