ALAMO CITY SCHOOL J26 fdsf Pjrk Street Mjmo Tennewee 38001 Office of the Superintendent Telephone (901) 696-5575 SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE TO THE CLASS OF 1982: Friendship is love with understanding. He that seeks to have many friends has few. You can hardly make a friend in a year, but you can easily offend one in an hour. Anyone with a heart full of friendship has a hard time finding enemies. An act by which we make one friend and one enemy is a losing game becauae revenge is more active than gratitude. There can be no friendship without confidence and no confidence without Integrity. Succeaa has many friends. Success comes in cans; failure comes in can’ts. Before you can score you must first have a goal. Worse than the quitter la the man who is afraid to begin. The dictionary is the only place where success comes before work. Success Is a ladder which cannot be climbed with your hands in your pockets. Success comes from having the proper aim as well as the right annnu- nltlon. The only difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is the way you use them. Few men succeed because they are destined to; most men succeed because they are determined to. If there Is rlghtousness in the heart there will be beauty in the character. If there is beauty in the character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. When there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world. If civilization is to survive, we must cul- tivate the ability of all peoples, to live together, in the same world, at peace. Aim for the top! Best Wishes Senior Class Stan Black Hn Appreciation of DBrs. iBlanbell SCoonce The yearbook staff proudly dedicates the 1981 edition of “The Fort to Mrs. Blondell Koonce. As a dedicated member of the teaching profession, she has contributed much effort and time to make life better for many people. . , , She is retiring after many years of teaching in Crockett County. We are delighted to have the opportunity to wish her a happy retirement, and to say “Thank you, Mrs. Koonce. Andrea Auerij Editor Many memories are made each year at Alamo High School. The difficult task of the yearbook staff is capturing these “Alamo Memories.” In my opinion, the 1981-82 Fort Staff has done an excellent job of ful-filling its task. I want to thank each member of the yearbook staff. They have given their ideas, service, and cooperation. Editor 4 Administration Board of Education: Seated: Bobby Kail, Chairman. Standing: Mary J. Life and all its anxieties We have struggled and come to that day. When all the time and work Has finally begun to pay. This time will always be special To those that hold a place. In their hearts and minds forever And to the ones that found a space. In their life to make this time a reality, Many hearts cry out with joy.
