LIBRARY CLUB
The students of the Library Club, chosen each
year by Miss Carver, devote at least one hour a day
to library work. The members benefit by their work
in many ways, for they are taught how to conduct a
library properly and are able to pick out the best
books to read.

ACTIVITIES
Each club has its own officers and committees,
thus enabling more active individual participa-
tion. This participation was evident in the World
Fellowship campaign and in the candy sales
and paper drives. Other activities that com-
pleted a successful year were the installation
and the socials.

The whole school can well be proud of our band.
Many hours of practice and unceasing study are put
forth by each member.
XVithout its capable director, Mr. Arsers, the
band would be sadly lacking, for since the time of
his arrival, the band has risen steadily each year.

Bear, Crates were assembled, burned, and
the stampede to the theater took place. About
this time Color Day came along, and the

CINDER PATH OUTLOOK
Track season opened with brilliant prospects in the hurdles, Sprints, and weights.
Versatile Charlie Lebrecht was expected to fumish a scoring punch in both timber-
topping events. Bobby Rigney and experienced Ross Youngs were strong entries for
the Mules in the 100 and 220-yard dashes. Weightmen Barlow Irvin, Tom Smith,
and Maxey Hart contended for high honors in the shot put and discus.
Newcomer Pete Ortiz bolstered the Mules' hopes in the middle-distance races
by clipping oil brilliant practice times. Frank Wolle kept hopes high with promising
performances in the quarter mile.
The sprint relay team, manned by Bobby Rigney, joe Peacock, Bubba Bowman,
and Ross Youngs, ranked high in sportswriters' opinions. Pete Oritz, john Adair,
