Avtvsi' caches' ssocial-ions Lofi to Right: Mrs. Harper, Mrs. Hlcks, Mr. Phyles, Mrs. Louino, Mrs. Mlller OBJECTS OF THE NATIONAL CONGRESS OF PARENTS AND TEACHERS To promote the welfare of children and youth in Home, chool, Church and Community. To raise the standards of home life. To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth. To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelli- gently in the training of the child. To develop between educators and the general ublic such united efforts as will secure for every chigi the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education. These objects of the ParentJTeachers Association were first written in 1887 when P.-T. A. was founded, and the same objects are the basis ofour organization today. The traditions which our founders built-now belong to all of us. We must realize that the first thoughts of our founders were to improve the homes of the children of this nation. Gradually this interest grew to include the school and the community. Every home in the conununity has a vital influence on the life of your child. Let us think'of the responsibility of both the home and the school in developing leaders in the community of the future. ALAMEDA P.-T. A. was organized to carry forth these purposes. May we continue to abide by the objects and the licies of the National Congress of Parents and Teacgiers, that we may help not only our own families but every one in our area-remembering at all times that ALL CHILDREN ARE OUR CHILDREN.
