LA ll ‘EY TNT Where do you want to put them?!? - Colleen Clark, Debbie Gallagher, and Ricky Keiser beautify the gym. The taste of a new generation - Kim Glucoft and Geoff Gay prepare the drinks for the night’s | event. 5 Pe Tropica Fever arrived. I remember as ap- proached the gym, I could see the bright, flashing lights and feel the loud, thumping vi- brations of the music beneath my feet. The theme was “Go Hawai- ian” and it was called the Aloha Dance to welcome the incoming freshmen and other new students. As I entered the gym, I saw a wide vari- ety of upper and lower classmen. A whopping 560 kids showed up. Everyone was decked Let’s have a Luau! - friends mingle. out in their best Ha- walian garb, and color- ful Leis were handed out to the first 150 peo- ple who showed up. The pulsating sounds were provided by Mu- sic Masters, who did a great job of pleasing the tastes of all the people who attended that first festive affair. I later learned from Colleen Clark, dance commissioner, that the whole dance grossed about $1807. The lead- ership class was re- sponsible for thinking up the theme and cre- ating the decorations.
