The function of this group is to act in a policy-forming, advisory capacity and assist the administration with securing student meetings. The members are the student body officers, the presidents of Girls’ Association and Men’s Association, the Chief Counselors of Men’s and Women’s Boards of Control, presi- dent of Girls’ Athletic Association, the speaker of the Ad Board, and one Ad Board appointee. The board’s immediate function is to approve the school budget, and to approve payments of A. S. A. H. S. bills. It further has the power to initiate amendments to the A. S. A. H. S. constitu- tion if an amendment is needed. BILD STAR The Men’s Board of Control is composed of eighteen boys who are chosen for this office by a group composed of the President of the Student Body, the Speaker of the Ad Board, the Chief Counselor of the Men’s Board of Control, an d the Principal and Vice Principal. Each exercises one vote. Ten of the boys elected must be members of the Boys Block A Society, and the eight others must be upper classmen in good standing. Regulations state, further, that ten of the group must be Seniors and eight must be Juniors. The Boards of Control preserve order in Student Meetings, Rallies, Games, and at other gatherings where the Associated Students of Alameda High School have the super- vision of student conduct.
