ibarecleuif .Mabry We chose Robert's Studio from Ft. Wayne to come and shoot our faces, We broke the camera, H. C., therefore pictures had to be taken two different days. We chose our colors to be Academy blue and white, Our flower is the white rose with blue tinted edges Our class play this year was The More The Merrier The cast did a swell Job of putting the little frogs to work The class had talked on several ways to make money for our trip We do have a good sum in our treasury at present We picked out our invitation name cards, and also our caps and gowns. It seems as though we are busy all the time, We also chose our annual covers. We will all have to admit that the senior cords flashing around are pretty nifty. We are all enjoying our last year together verv much and we know at graduation time we will be able to say that these were the best years of our lives Our motto What we are to be vue are now becoming GPQJQULK jutufe The thrill of the circus has always fascinated me I knew this would be the last circus that I would attend with my classmates of 1953 My feelings were mixed with sadness and happi ness The band was in formation and the gilded cages and gayly dressed performers were ready for the big parade It was a few minutes before we were to enter the Big Top so I was looking around to find something to do until that time Who could guess that such an important thing would happen in such a few short minutes' If you haven t guessed by now I will tell you I had spied Madam OWGJI the greatest prophet of all times I was feeling sentimental about our classmates and my visit to her told me of the activities of my classmates in future years The first person she saw in her crystal ball was Donald Moyer Don IS now the prominent producer of Keystone Movies Charlene Dick is Huffman a great dancing star is in the support ing cast Barbara Waechter a great designer does all of the costume designing and Nancy Irelan a famous interior decorator is doing the stage settings for the Follies of 63 As she looks on she sees a great scene in he Pacific aboard Admiral Jerry Pontius great ship the Indiana Here Harold L Leininger a diplomat from the United States IS confer ring with Robert Oliver a chief intelligence of ficial and Kenneth Swick a nuclear physicist about atomic warfare They are trying to find a way to make more effective weapons with less cost to the United States As the crystal ball clears she takes us on a tour of the United States First she sees the great Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra in which Har r1et Whallon is first flute The crystal ball changes and now we see a busy metropolitan street Walter Cumberland Page I6 head of Universal Trucking Company walks in to the Kroger Company managed by Larry Gear heart and hands his weigh bills to Helen Miller secretary to Gearhart As we view the street we see Leon Good manager of Armours talk ing to Jim Sriver head of the Last Stand Vault Co Jack Utter owner of Aqua Filling Stations and Bill Hively head of the Granite Egg Com DHUY The crystal ball takes us on a tour through the town Ester Dawson third grade teacher is conversing with Jerry Reed safety engineer of the Erie Railroad about safety signals for the grade school children As we go on down the street we see an exclusive millinery shop run by the former Beverly Hartzler and Emogene Hoffman Through the crystal ball she now sees a hos pital scene What Is one of our classmates ill? No She tells us that we will find Judy Kinney ing to Jane Bowen head nurse of the same hos pital She sees in the first ward a great singing star of our times Pat Burkett entertaining some of the veterans In the second ward she sees Clifford Kmdig a nation wide evangelist talk ing to the boys These two people leave then: homes and families each week to help entertain these boys As she takes us down the street of Akron she sees a large drug store and tells us that it is one of Steve Arter s many chain drug stores In front of the store we see Jack Shriver county agri cultural agent and Mickey Leavell the local veterinarian talking to three very prosperous farmers Larry Paxton Harry Carlton and Charles Ramsey The topic of their conversation is the great horse Nite Fire a Kentucky Derby winner owned by the former Alice Van Lue When I leave the small tent I am in a daze from hearing about the plight of my classmates and am swept into the big tent ' .
