Baseball 'Jeam FRONT ROW LEFT TO RIGHT Ray Sylvester Nelson Lew1s Max Sherman Ronnre Aldnch D1ck Partlo Jrm Bell BACK ROW Gary Kramer Clayton Turner Denms Thompson Paul Dowlmg Coach John Bradley Bob Bach Sam Kruchkow Tom Valenune Jerry Jeffrey The T957 baseball team provnded many thrills during the sprung season, even though tney galned only a 2 4 record The games that provrded the most thrllls were the 6 2 vrctory over Falrgrove and the game with Peck that the spectators thought would never end, whlch fmally ended rn a l2th rnnlng victory for our opponents That game was a pitcher s duel between Max Sherman, who allowed one hut and struck out twenty one batters, and All State Dwcune Blott, who struck out thlrty men and allowed only two huts In Akron s 3 7 wan over Owendale, Gary Kramer prtcher a one hntter, and showed great signs for the future Akron had hoped to take the All Sports Trophy but when they were upset by Reese, the trophy ended up at Owendale The best battlng averages were made by Max Sherman and Bob Bach Max, a sensor, earned a 474, and Bob, a lunlor, earned a 333 The followmg boys won letters for baseball, Max Sherman, Paul Dowling, Dennts Thompson, Clayton Turner, Ron Aldrlch, Bob Bach Nelson Lewls, Gary Kramer, Gerald Jeffrey Clarence Pelton, and Ray Sylvester 18 V . 2 .
