Randy Shields, Sam Jones, David Rhoads, Frank Bustamante About the only togetherness on the track teams are the meetings before a meet and the sharing of victories after- wards. Beyond that track and field is an individual sport. The desire to win to improve, is a personal goal. The tech- niques taught and learned are only tools to be used to attain the victory. For only as one victory builds upon another does the team. as a whole. succeeds. And so it went with the I980 Boys and Girls Track Team. The Girls Track faired the more successful season. They 36! I 980 TRACK completed an undefeated dual-trangular meet season, cap- tured the Ajo Lion's Invitational championship, broke nine school records, and four team members had individual event times which were the best in the state. Coach Dunlap and Coach Powers will long remember the l980 season. The Boy's Track Team had a moderate season, but are looking towards the l98I season with great anticipation. The experiences of the l98O season will provide the fuel for the I98I season.
