The Gobblers dropped the opener to St. Cloud Cathedral The Gobblers Iirst win was a 46-42 defeat over St. Cloud Tech. Aitkin went on to lose several c-lose games to Crosby-Ironton and Wadena. As the year progressed, Aitkin went on to win about half of the games they played. One startling sur- prise was the Gobbler's rout' of Brainerd by the score of 61-25. The team showed good possibilities to finish fairly high in the distrir-t beoause the majority of the remaining games was to be played on the home eourt. First platters were lboten, Britney, Petersen and Johnson. The set-ond meet of the year was a triangular affair held at Brainerd with Brainerd, Aitkin and Little Falls.. Aitkin came out on top again with 56. .Xitkin took the Mid-State track trophy. Tile c-indernien went on to rapture the Central Six and the Distric-t 24 trophies also. The Gobblers took second in Region Six, following Moorhead. Doten and Rritney were the only Gobblers who went on from the regional to the state meet.
