i t'me Out of the eight games we played, we defeated three
This '52 football season was one of the best seasons Aitkin has played in a ong i . f h I
of the strongest teams in our conference and we also won our homecoming game. These are short resumes o t e games.
AITKIN 13-WADENA 35
Our season opener came as Aitkin's first defeat, Although de-
feated, we looked forward to the rest of the season with great an-
ticipation.
AITKIN 26-ALEXANDRIA 45
During this game the fans saw very little defensive play by
either team. "Snookie" proved to be the outstanding player of the
game by scoring on runs of 68, 69 and 70 yards, and he passed 35
yards to Jim Samuell for the other score.
AITKIN 25-C-I 0
This was our first home game and also our first victory. In
defeating our foremost rival, C-I, the two former defeats were for-
gotten. This was the best team play of the season and especially
good because of the defensive play led by Rad Reither, Jim Herring
and Dan Olson.
AITKIN 6--LITTLE FALLS 27
Although we were a little slow at getting started, the second
half proved that the Gobblers were still in there fighting.
AITKIN 19-STAPLES 13
Thi ame was one of our more exciting games because we won
F g' '
it on the last play of the game, a pass from "Tobas" to "Snookie".
The defense was led by Ray Pratt. Because this was Staples' home-
coming, it was a heavy loss to them.
Although in number, the victories and losses of our '52 football
thus far overshadowing our defeats.
i
AITKIN 194BRAINERD 13
By an identical score as that of the Staples game, we defeated
Brainerd's homecoming also. The outstanding player of this game
was Dick Skog, while Bob Pratt and Bill Jakubice did a good job
going down under punts.
AITKIN 46--CLOQUET 7
Homecoming! Although we upset Staples and Brainerd's home-
comings, our own turned out to be a great success. During this
game the spectators witnessed the top offensive performance of the
season, with "Snookie" and "Skog" scoring three times each. Ritter,
Samuell. Kaplan and Christianson led the team in downfield block-
ing.
AITKIN 14--ST. CLOUD TECH 52
This defeat was one that was especially hard to take for every-
one. The reason was because if we would have won, that would have
meant a three-way tie for first place between Aitkin, Little Falls
and St. Cloud Tech. As it was, St. Cloud Tech was first, followed
by Little Falls, and third was Aitkin. It was during this last game
that Skog electrified the crowd by running back the opening kickoff
81 yards for a score.
team were equal, the victories were won over our most important rivnln

Harald. an Eagle Scout of Aitkin, was given an outstanding honor when he
was chosen to represent Region 10 of the Boy Scouts of America to go to Washing-

the highlights of his trip were seeing the White House, the Capital, the FBI and
meeting J. Edgar Hoover, the Smithsonian Institute, Mount Vernon, the XVashington
