The First Date The first date. What a night tMarel! The first date a person has is a very memorable exper- ience. lt is usually very nice, but sometimes di- sastrous. lt takes about 30 minutes for the new couple to decide what they want to do. They decide on a movie. Once inside, the boy puts his arm around the girl and is quietly chok- ing her. She is too em- barassed to sayl any- thing. After the movie, they go to the local McDonald's. This is a bad idea because they don't want to eat in front of each other. With stomachs growl- ing in fhunger, they both order Cokes. As all experienced daters know, McDonald's ends the first date. Now the couple is a two- some and can be seen together everywhere - walking to classes, going to football games or maybe even eating lunch together. As dat- ing couples know, a night out can some- times be very expen- sive. A lot of couples enjoyed staying home and watching movies on a VCR, and enjoying the company. MOLLIE HUNT AND Clay Campbell shared the events of their day. IILL SIMS AND Blaine Laughlin found other things to do in the lunchroom besides eating. 12 Student Life ,av

Studying 'Everyone started the year with a resolve to make good grades, to al- ways do homework, and to study for every test. Few kept these promises. For those who did the re- wards were priceless. Many hours of studying, cramming for tests, pon- dering over trig problems, and writing English assign- ments were needed to succeed. It took a lot to reach that certain mark of suc- cess that each one of us wanted to attain, whether it be for a scholarship, special recognition by teachers or just for our own personal satisfaction. Studying required giving Paid Off up a lot ot our tree time and missing a lot of extra- curricular activities. Studying meant burning the mid-night oil and missing our favorite weeknight television shows. Satisfaction came from seeing that passing grade on all our assign- ments. There was no re- port card day anxiety . Those who didn't study found out the hard way that it was a necessary part of their high school years. All of us complained be- cause of the amount of studying that was re- quired, but in the end all of the hard work and dedication paid off. lt was all worth it. WENDY LOVERIDGE AND Cal Knettle shared a joke during class. SCOTT KEYS TRIED to fit all of USA BYBEE CAUGHT up on her his books into his locker. studying during lunch. 6 --,G 14 Student Life
