The Air Force R.O.T.C. enrolled one hundred and seventeen members during the school year. Established in 1972, R.O.T.C. has offered students who are Ameri- can citizens and are fourteen years or older, the chance to broaden their knowledge in aerospace science and functions of the United States Air Force. R.O.T.C. is an integral part of the training of military personnel. R.O.T.C. cadets enjoyed a variety of cocurricular and social activities. The Viking Honor Guard represented Airline in various functions, while the Cadet Corps conducted the flag-raising ceremony at special events and sports occasions. The R.O.T.C. cadets also partici- pated in the simulator program, the Rocket Club, ori- entation flights, and several field trips. Squadron Com- manders Mike Arrington and Amanda Ross worked closely with the the aerospace science instructor Lt. Col. William Adams and the Assistant ASI C.M. Sgt. Waylon Branch to provide and train cadets in the best possible environment. The R.O.T.C. marched in the Homecoming Parade.
