. French Club Bake sales, a car wash, and talks by people who had been to France were some of the high- lights for this year's French Club. Of the twenty-eight mem- bers, outstanding ones were Cindy Jarrett, Carla Lehnertz, and Carolyn Simmons. Members of the club had to be interested in French, officers Were required to have taken a French course. Club sponsors were Mrs. High and Mrs. Wandrey. FTA An organization that the teachers found especially helpful this year was the Future Teachers Association. Each mem- ber Was assigned to help a teacher grade papers, put up bulletin boards, and helped bu tutoring students. The club, sponsored by Mrs. Bessie Cox, was for any stu- dent Who maintained a C average, who was interested in exploring teaching as a career, and who had good character, personality, scholarship, and leadership. There were twenty-five club members this year. Library Club The two main requirements for membership in the Library Club were passing grades and a willingness to work, there were some thirty members in this year's club. Attendance at a state convention, a caroling party, and working in the li- brary were three of their main activities. Club sponsors were Miss Anderson and Mrs. Car- lisle.
