The bands kept up everyone's spirits at the football and basket- ball games, marched for football halftime shows and played in dis- trict and state competitions. Mr. Perkins explained the importance of a band: Hopefully the band teaches some appreciation of mu- sic, as well as the discipline it takes to play a musical instru- ment.
