One of the most exciting clubs in 1981-62 was Mountaineering Club, whose objective, as sponsor Mr. Bruce Hamilton expressed it, was to spend as much time as possible outdoors. To accomplish this goal the for- ty members of Mountaineering Club spent their weekends hik- ing, backpacking, rockclimbing, cross-country skiing, and testing their endurance by climbing 14,000-foot peaks. lt was often hard work, but the extreme men- tal and physical challenge was met with enthusiasm by all mem- bers lr, S Organizations! 137
