The number of depositors seem to be growing larger every week. There were twenty seven deposited today. rss. 10, mmursasy. Back Again! The dcclamtory team came home tonight after Sub. County Declazmatory Contest at Arispe with first place in the Dramatic class, Mildred Myers the winner. Mildred 1Zt.'.Favre, spoke in Oratorical and lhry Jo McCall in Humorous. ms. 11, Friday. A Lincoln Essay Contest report this morning. The winners were: Mary Jo McCall, first, Pauline Young, second., a.ndSi.dney Long, third. Pauline and Sidney read theirs before the assemi- bly. Mary Jo was absent,- ill. The first and second Basket Ball teams went to Osceoleto- night. They took the small end of the score, which was 37-5 . Philip Kelly and J immie Treichler were both unfortunate enough to get hurt. Phil had to have the sid of crutches, but Jim just sprained his ankle, The seconds lost 11 to 6. me 12. Philip Kelly and James Treichler were unable to play in the Creston game tonight. The team played a hard game losing 18 to 174. Hadley captainod and starred. Seconds tied Creston Reserves after overtime period. This is the second time Afton has played Creston this year and both times were unable to score a vicotry. Faye Longstreth,second and Ne:'jorj.e Jacobson, third. Miss Melba Carpenter, of Osceola judged the contest andwill also judge the humorous contest Friday night. FEB. 2, Wednesday. H Mildred LaFa.v12e and giliflred Myers are still practicing on their selections whidh will be given at Arispe, February 10th. We hope to see some more. firsts come marching home from there. FEB. 3, Thursday. Fire drills were held this morning. It came as e. surprise, to the pupils, but they all mgrched out without much confusion in the lines. By a score of 15 to 9, Aftons' first team won the victory over Cromwe1l's first team tonight. They met with strongand fest opposition. The second team won an easy victory over Cromwell's seconds.
