The High School Orchestra met tonight for theirweekly re- hearsal, and also elected the following officers:Her'oert Craig, President: Anna Hadley, Business Mgrs Philip Kelly, Sec. and Treasurer . The Presbyterian Ladies Aid Arithmetic' teet was .e great success. It shows they havenft forgotten all they learned school anyway, NOV. 17, Wednesday. Prof. J. B. Paul, of Irma State Teachers College, Cedar, Falls, talked to the assembly this morning., He gave us some very interesting information and instructions. W Q He also gave Arithmetic and Reading tests to the grade - pupils, at 'both buildings. The Normal Training pupils ccrrect- ed the papers for the experience. These tests are in - con- nection with plan sponsored 'oy the Union Co. Supt. and Rin- cipal' s Club. NOV. 18, Thursday. Everyone seems to have recovered from the tests that were given the two preceding days. I believe everyone is wiser for the interest they have shown in this work. NOV. 19, Friday. Rev. Howard -spoke to the assembly this morning. The pupils listened very attentively. 'A higher aim-mora1ly,spiritual1y , and edecationally, in work , in play and in life at large' ,washis theme. The ancient cus- tom of extending the little finger was reinstated by these honor- able upper classmen. Like grape-nuts--there's a reason. Their class rings arrived today. The Parent-Teachers Association had a convention in Creston today. The faculty said there were some very beneficial talks. NOV. 23, Tuesday. A few swollen eyes appeared this morning. Methinks a minor- ity strained their eyes to see the good looking rings the Seniors are flashing. NOV. 214, Wednesday. Rev. Ploetz, of the First Presbyterian church,tali:ed to the, assembly this mornirg. Enjoyed by all. Ionian Society met on Wednesday, because on Friday is vaca- tion time.
