f 33a.-T H IE A, Ho So E Q H-H 6--o63f 3U6 OCT. ll, Monday, Mr. Foster suggested that we gather a lot of pretty leaves, pumpkins, corn shocks, bitter sweet, etc. Sounds as though some- thing rather interesting were going to happen. ocm. 12, Tuesday. Can't tell for sure whether this is A. H. S. or whether I blundered into a cornfield or something. It looks fine even if the Freshmen and Lola couldn't find any of the blue leaves that Mrs Foster ordered. The two Mildreds' and Vera and AIn0ld dec- orated the Mimeograph room with pumpkins and corn shocks: and even Mr. McDowells', office blossomed forth gaily with oakleaves,corn- awoke, bittersweet and Ippumpkins. ocm. 13, wednesday. Well, first thing this morning Mr. Foster askedif we wanted an Honor Row again this year. .almost everybody must have hopes of sitting there this year because they all wanted it. OCT. 174, Thursday. O Hum! exams again. Don't know whether I'll get to sit in the Honor Row or not. And I never will get that bookreport done. Guess I'1l sell some subscriptions for the Ladies Home Jeurnal or something tonight. That's a pretty good way to make some money. OCT. 15, Friday. More exams! Mr. Foster learned a lot of new things in his, Physics class. For instance: WA liquid is anything that runs. A solid is anything together or in a boar. The boys had their first Basketball meeting tonight. The prospects look bright with all of last year's first team back again: Philip Kelly, James Treichler, Forwards: Harold Hadley, Leonard Porter, Guardsg and Clyde Killion, Center: There was a - lot of others present too. Afton had a fast team last year and we are hoping to devel- ope a much better team this season. The team won the consolation iU111'D-ememt at Arispe, but were unable to place in the sectional tournament held at Osceola. Watch Afton bid for the County tournament this year. -..,3f f3Q....H 9 2 7--..3jf ?Q4.... 51
