JUNIOR ACTIVITIES The Junior Class, composed of only twenty students has had a busy year. They assumed their responsibilities and have cooperated in every way. They have made a name for themselves on the football team, girls' and boys' basketball teams, pep club, band, glee club, and of course, in the classroom. The class officers were chosen soon after school began. The girls presented the better platform and received the majority of class offi- cers. The officers elected were: Rosemary Kinkead President John Helm Vice-President Ruth Campbell Secretary Emily Dee Victor Treasurer Fayrene Funkhouser Reporter Mrs. Harold Dry Sponsor Immediately the group voted to have a hay ride. So, on September lu, a journey was made to Grand Lake on Ralph Hammock's wagon. The group ate dust and weeds to and from the lake, but that only served to make the weiners and the trimmings taste better. The Juniors assumed the task ofearning money forthe Junior-Senior banquet. They sold food and drinks at the footballand basketballgames, sold Christmas wrapping paper, and gave their annual play on December lb. WGood Gracious, Grandma!,H a three act farce, had a cast composed of Emily Victor, Rosemary Kinkead, Laverda Rider, Willa Dean Todd, Jim Hudspeth, Bob Garman, George Baker, Charles Marsh, and Herbert Gregory The class chose Rosemary Kinkead as candidate for football queen, and worked diligently in her support. On March 25 the Juniors presented the one-act play with the other high school classes. 'Sure As You're Born' was played by Ruth Camp- bell, Barbara Gripe, Rosemary Kinkead, Bob Garman, Jim Hudspeth, and Robert Snow. The group willhave three more social events--two parties, and the annual Junior-Senior banquet. The date of the banquet is May l3, and the circus motif has been chosen. This year was an important one for these upper classmen. They have made a successful struggle, have worked hard, and, of course, are looking orward to becoming Wdignified Seniorsn next year. i v5 t ll'Ti f Z 'F G A
