In the late 1950 s the caty of Adnan took a grant step nn educa
tlonal progress The theme of thus year s Suckle On with the New
represents the movlng from the old hugh school bulldlng on Church
Street to the new modern structure on Riverside Drnve
We nllustrate thus educatncnal progress by a llttle futurastlc char
acter used throughout the book Because thus cartoon character
added so much to the orlgmallty and the personalnty of the 1959
yearbook he wall be a feature nn thus year s Sickle also

Yet Love Wlll Dream
Yet Love wall dream and Fanth wnll trust
lS1nce He who knows our need as justl
That somehow somewhere meet we must
Alas for hum who never sees
The stars shane through hls cypress trees'
Who hopeless lays his dead away
Nor looks to see the breaking day
Across the mournful marbles play'
Who hath not learned In hours of fanth
The trutn to tlesh and sense unknown
That Llfe ns ever Lord of Death
And Love can never lose Its ownl

This year, eight senior boys had the honor of
being selected as Junior Rotarians. These boys were
named after consideration was given to their scho-
lastic records and citizenship. Each Junior Rotarian
attends Rotary Club meetings for one month, to be-
come acquainted with the organization of the club.
At the end of the year the Junior Rotarians return
and the program for one meeting.

Staglme a three act comedy was successfully

of Maudle and her attempts to snag a boy frlend
Because of the weddmg and her plot to capture

the weddmg In fact thmgs go so haywnre It appears
that there will be no weddmg dress veul and maybe
even no brldegroom Also because Maudle decldes
to economlze on mvltatnons the brldegroom may
have lost his best cluent All nn all the weddmg runs
off smoothly and everyone us happy

At the first meeting of the Varsnty Club of 1959
1960 officers were elected and a schedule was set
up for meetmgs to be held regularly throughout
the year
Many new applicants were screened for a mass

The Varsity Club took over a new fund ralslng

Thus proved to be a profitable venture and will
probably be used as a mam prolect for years to
