A three-act farce, it kept the audience in stitches from beginning to end. Th finished product was not the old-standing love "triangle" but, instead, a romantic "pentagon." The play was climaxed by a "fight in the dark," and the villians were beaten up in the best "mellar-drammar" fashion. THE CAST Henry Simmons ........ ....................... .......... safzszioof z2a,,,,,,ei The "Hula Hop", this year's all-school banquet, was held in the senior gym, which was appropriately decorated as a Hawaiian island. A delicious steak dinner was cooked by the Home Economics Depart- ment, under the direction of Miss Neilson, and served by the members of the faculty. The outstanding "server" was Mr. Sullivan, chief dipper, who ladeled out a little corn to everyone. Following the dinner came the entertainment under the direction of Mr. Strobel, with Jack Block as master-of-ceremonies. The first act starred Roy Keller, a mountain boy who was carried to Hawaii in a dream. ln his dream there were many girls, dances, and songs. The highlight of the dances was Bob Miller and John Hancock, who were disguised as Hawaiian hula girls and gave a fine interpretation of the hula dance. Concluding the program, The DeSpain Players presented "Uncle Tom's Cabin", a skit written for the occasion by the composition classes. The evening was topped off with a dance featuring the Mapleaires. Much praise should be given Dale Fleming and the teachers and stu- dents whose untiring efforts placed the "Hula Hop" among our pleasant memories.
