t Y' .QE ffv-'W V 1 4 4 .l, NIS!! 1 -a r fs - llf f' GIRLS LE GWE The Girl's League was organized in Nyssa in 1939. The officers were elected and installed at the Nyssa Baptist Church in April 1938. Officers elected include: Flora Prosser, president, Juanita Sipes, vice president: Louise Hinton, secretary and Louise Klingback, treasurer. The colors are silver, gold and blue which were worn on installation day. Our songs are, Silver, Gold and Blue, The Girl's League, and Honest and True. Plans call for a business meeting and program once each month. A committee appointed to draw up a constitution are still working on this important assignment. We also have a publicity scrap book and a lost and found department. At each meeting we had a charm program where some outside speaker gave us a talk about helpful hints in our every day life. Through various projects du1'lng the year we tried to laecp the school rooms neat and assisted the Llettermen's Club and Student Body in pro- moting and furthering worthwhile school projects. When the officers finish their te1'm they receive a small gold pin with G. L. on it. This ls a reward for the faithful attention and service con- tributed by them. GLU Adrian's first letternien club was organized on November 29, 1939 The following officers were elected: President, Claud Patterson, Vice President, Oliver Freely Secretary and Treasurer, Jim Millerg Advisor, Mr. Cook. The lettermen were instrumental in developing an appreciation of school property and in formulating constructive rules for caring for the school building and equipment. Violators of the rules were forcibly im- pressed of their violation by the group. The group has enjoyed unusual success in developing a sense of pride in the school building and in the proper care of school equipment. The group has received fine cooperation from the entire student body. The Adrian Lettermen Club is growing rapidly and in future years will probably be a better and more useful organization.
