Winters FUTURE FARMERS 'l F.F.A. members participated in livestock fairs and shows through- out Southern California. Livestock and crop judging teams judged in several field days and judging con- tests. The club held a joint social and recreational barbeque with the Future Business Leaders. In May the Future Farmers held their an- nual Father and Son Barbeque at Oak Grove Park. The local chapter has won many awards including the county F.F.A. championship for the past two years. In December, the club toured the Helms' Athletic Foundation and viewed South Pacific on its first-semester field trip. January saw thirty members at the Southern Section workshop in Norwalk. Here, members entered the Essay, Public Speaking, Spelling and Miss Future Business Leader contests. Betty Nobel was named Miss Future Business Leader of America for the Southern Section. Proceeds from sales helped pay the way of 20 members to the convention.
