I
The Girls' League was presided over by President
Frieda Douglas and was under the supervision of Mrs.
Scherer, the advisor. To many students, two of the
most pleasant memories they have are the Fall and
Spring Tolo.
The Fall Tolo was held on October 11 with the theme
of "Ivy League".
At Christmas time the Girls' League sent in their
contributions of food, toys, clothes and money to the
Basket-Fillers.
The last event to make the year successful was the
Spring Tolo held on April 26 with the theme of "Orien
tal Gardens".

Director George C. Cochran's comments for
this year were as follows: "We were slow in
starting, but after reconstruction began the
future looked bright." The band was at quite
a loss starting this year because the graduates
made up most of last year's band. Mr. Coch-
ran has big hopes for next year. Some of the
things that the band participated in this year
were the Armistice Parade, Spring Concert,
mass band festival, Daffodil Parade, and all
of the football and basketball games. "Yes,
sir," said the director, "it's been a busy

"Mumbo Jumbo", a mystery farce in three acts, by Jack Barnard was presented November
22, inthe Adna High School Auditorium by the '58 graduating class.
Dick Reynolds and Pee-Wee Smith began the action-packed mystery when they turned Dick's
uncle's summer home into a country hotel. When strange mannered guests--such as--Doctor
Omahandra, a mystic, and Mr. Beamish, a blind man, began to arrive, the hotel became a
perfect setting for the murder of Peaches Greeding.

Comments by Couch
Adna's football team after dropping their first two games, 19 to 13 to Toutle Lake and 33 to
13 to Oakville, came back to win six straight games. There is a lot more to these six game
streaks than meets the eye. Three of our regulars were lost after the first two games
with severe broken bone injuries. Others played with handicaps, and it was only through
determination and strong desire that we did so well. Bill Mullins did a tremendous job as
offensive end, Jerry Berrier running and passing, Ron Richardson running and defensive, and
Walt Marth on both offense and defense. These four Seniors really carried the load. I was
proud of this football team, and they should also be proud of their record.

At Adna this year we were unfortunate in losing about two thirds of our league
games There arp several ways of losing however The players from Captain
Ju ry Berrlei to the Subs on the second string did their best at all times
The Senioi s Jerry Bei rler Walt Marth Ron Richardson stuck out the season
and proved to be of great value to the
team At times they did not play as much
as perhaps they would have wished yet
team spirit and personal pride kept them
playing and doing the best Job they were
capable of do1ng They were of ieal
value to our team
The Juniors Roy Scheier Johnny Leo
nard were hustlmg members of the usual
starting five.
The Sophomores: Jim Barrett, Jim Ho-
kanson, Jerry Ford, and Ray Jones were
of great assistance to the team. As the
season progressed these boys improved
very rapidly.
